The Opposition INDIA bloc has welcomed Supreme Court's decision to grant interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi liquor policy case on Friday. The court has also allowed the Aam Aadmi Party chief to participate in political activities, meaning he could campaign for the party in the Lok Sabha elections.
Welcoming the decision, TMC chairperson Mamata Banerjee said the decision would prove to be helpful during the ongoing Lok Sabha Elections. "I am very happy to see that Shri Arvind Kejriwal has got interim bail. It will be very helpful in the context of the current elections," she said in a post on X.
Arvind Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 in the now scrapped off liquor policy scam. Considering the ongoing Lok Sabha polls the Supreme Court has granted Delhi CM bail till June 1. Kejriwal has to surrender on June 2.
